MINSK, August 16. /Dunyo IA/. Trade houses featuring products from enterprises in Uzbekistan’s Namangan region under the “Made in Namangan” brand have opened in Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The trade houses were opened in Minsk and Grodno at the initiative of entrepreneurs from Namangan region. The opening ceremony in Minsk was attended by representatives of the Namangan regional administration and Uzbekistan’s business community, led by Regional Governor Shavkat Abdurazakov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Mamajonov, First Vice Mayor of Minsk City Aleksandr Komendant, as well as representatives of a number of Belarusian ministries and government agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Aleksandr Komendant noted that, thanks to agreements reached at the highest level, cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan is developing in a constructive manner.

“Today’s events are among the first steps within the framework of a new format of cooperation. I am confident that these trade houses will be in demand among residents of Minsk and the region,” he said.

The opening of the trade houses was the result of agreements between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko aimed at further developing bilateral trade and strengthening business ties.

The trade houses currently offer a wide range of textile products, including towels, bathrobes, knitwear, clothing for children, women and men, as well as bed linen. Particular attention is paid to competitive prices and product quality.

The range will be expanded in the near future to include other goods produced in Namangan region. In particular, plans are in place to begin selling dried fruits, juices, canned products and jams.

According to the trade house’s founder, entrepreneur Khakimjon Fayzullayev from Namangan, the prices are set at an affordable level, which, in his view, will increase the interest of Belarusian consumers in products from Uzbekistan.
