BUDAPEST, September 20. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together Uzbek compatriots permanently or temporarily residing in Hungary, as well as Uzbek students studying in the country.

The participants exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s achievements over the years of independence, large-scale reforms underway in the country, and measures to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

The participants were briefed on issues related to support for compatriots abroad, protection of their rights, compliance with Hungarian legislation, consular registration procedures, and access to consular and legal assistance. Particular attention was paid to the procedure for contacting the Embassy in various circumstances.

A separate meeting was held with Uzbek students studying in Hungary. In an open dialogue, the participants discussed issues related to their studies, compliance with migration requirements, monitoring the validity of documents, and timely contact with the diplomatic mission.

The young participants were also advised to comply with the laws of their country of residence, exercise caution when using the internet and social media, and avoid exposure to radical and extremist ideas. The importance of critically assessing questionable information and contacting the Embassy in case of any concerns was emphasized.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on promoting Uzbekistan’s national values, traditions and cultural heritage abroad, as well as fostering among young people a sense of patriotism and national pride.

The participants received answers to their questions concerning consular, legal and migration matters.
