World Chess Olympiad Continues in Samarkand

• 191SAMARKAND, September 20. /Dunyo IA/. The fourth round of the 46th World Chess Olympiad has concluded in Samarkand, with Uzbekistan-1 defeating Türkiye 2.5–1.5, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Nodirbek Yakubboev defeated Vahap Şanal, while Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindorov and Shamsiddin Vokhidov drew their respective games.
Uzbekistan-2 defeated New Zealand 2.5–1.5, while Uzbekistan-3 secured a 3.5–0.5 victory over Yemen. After four rounds, all three Uzbek men’s teams have six points, with Uzbekistan-1 maintaining a perfect record.
In the women’s tournament, Uzbekistan-1 defeated Argentina 3–1. Uzbekistan-2 lost to Kyrgyzstan 1–3, while Uzbekistan-3 was defeated by Cuba 1.5–2.5.
In the fifth round, Uzbekistan-1 will face Hungary, Uzbekistan-2 will play the Philippines, and Uzbekistan-3 will meet Austria. In the women’s competition, Uzbekistan-1 will face the United States, Uzbekistan-2 will play Tunisia, and Uzbekistan-3 will meet Madagascar.
The 46th World Chess Olympiad features 400 men’s and women’s teams. The tournament consists of 11 rounds and will continue through September 27.
