Russia Holds Final Day of State Duma Elections

MOSCOW, September 20. /Dunyo IA/. Russia is holding the final, third day of elections to the State Duma (parliament) today. The elections began on September 18, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing RIA Novosti.

Ten political parties are represented on the federal ballot: United Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), the Party of Direct Democracy, the Greens, A Just Russia, Rodina, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), the Party of Pensioners, Communists of Russia, and New People.

More than 2,200 elections at various levels are being held as part of the Unified Election Day. Russian voters are electing around 20,700 deputies and heads of local administrations.

More than 111 million citizens are eligible to vote in Russia. Abroad, 333 polling stations have been opened in 152 countries, including Uzbekistan. Voting at polling stations will end at 8:00 p.m. local time.
