DELHI, March 23. /Dunyo IA/. In the Indian capital, a meeting was held between Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan and Vikramaditya Singh, Head of the Rajasthan Polo Club, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in this popular sport.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Polo Federation of Uzbekistan and Rajasthan Polo Club.
The signed document lays a solid foundation for a long-term partnership aimed at reviving and popularizing polo as a shared cultural and sporting heritage of the two countries.
The memorandum defines strategic areas of cooperation, including the organization of joint international tournaments, exchange of experience between coaches, referees and technical staff, as well as the implementation of programs for the development of children's and youth polo.
Special attention in the document is paid to the exchange of training methodologies, horse care standards and best practices for sports event management.
The signing of the memorandum is an important step in expanding humanitarian and sporting ties.
As noted during the conversation, this step will not only professionalize polo in Uzbekistan by utilizing the extensive experience of Rajasthan -
“heart” of Indian polo but will also create a new platform for “sports diplomacy”.
The diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in India is providing full assistance in strengthening bilateral ties in the field of sports, supporting the positive momentum of interaction between the relevant organizations of the two countries.
In recent years, meaningful relations have been established between the chess federations of Uzbekistan and India. The Indian side actively supports the hosting of national and international competitions in Uzbek national sports - Kurash and Belbogli Kurash (belt wrestling) - which contributes to the popularization of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage on the international stage.
Strengthening direct contacts between sports federations and clubs serves as an important factor in the development of friendly Uzbek-Indian relations, promoting not only the exchange of experience and the improvement of athletic skills but also the deepening of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Polo has deep historical roots in Central Asia. The signing of this agreement with the Jaipur club has become a symbolic return to the origins of the popular game, which for centuries united the peoples along the Great Silk Road.
