The participation of UNESCO Director-General Khalid Al-Anani and President of the General Conference Hondker Talhi lent particular significance to the occasion, serving as a clear demonstration of UNESCO’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue, tolerance, and mutual understanding among representatives of different cultures and religions.
The iftar took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect, open communication, and solidarity, further highlighting the importance of advancing intercultural and interreligious dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. Hosting the event within UNESCO’s walls added symbolic value, emphasizing the need for unifying initiatives grounded in a culture of peace, respect for religious and cultural diversity, and traditions of understanding and humanism.
The Uzbek side views such events as an important contribution to strengthening dialogue among member states, international partners, and representatives of various cultures and religions, as well as a practical continuation of efforts to promote enlightened Islam, a culture of tolerance, and mutual respect.
