ASTANA, September 3. /Dunyo IA/. President of Kazakhstan has appointed Mukhtar Tleuberdi as Minister of Foreign Affairs, relieving him of his position as Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Austria, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing Kazinform.

Mukhtar Tleuberdi replaces Yermek Kosherbayev. He previously headed Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry from 2019 to 2023 and, in 2021, concurrently served as Deputy Prime Minister.

The new Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan was born on June 30, 1968. He began his diplomatic career in 1993, after which he held senior positions at the Foreign Ministry and served as Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, Switzerland and Austria.

From 2016 to 2019, he served as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and became head of the ministry in 2019. He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
