A large-scale business forum “Uzbekistan Investor Day” takes place in London

• 155LONDON, May 21. /Dunyo IA/. The “Uzbekistan Investor Day” business forum was organized at the headquarters of J.P. Morgan bank in the capital of Great Britain, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
More than 150 high-ranking guests took part in the forum. Among them were representatives of the British Export Finance Agency (UKEF), the “London Stock Exchange”, “City UK”, “European Bank for Reconstruction and Development”, “Franklin Templeton”, “Dentons”, “Baker McKenzie”, “Norton Rose Fulbright”, “Fitch Ratings”, “Moody’s”, “S&P Global”, “Thomson Reuters” and other major financial and legal institutions. This demonstrates the high significance of the event for the international financial community.
The Uzbek side was represented at the forum by officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank, as well as the leadership of more than 20 major state-owned banks and companies, including “National Bank of Uzbekistan” (NBU), “Aloqabank”, “Agrobank”, “Xalq Banki”, “NMMC”, “AMMC”, “Navoiyuran”, “Uzbekistan Airports”, “Uzmetkombinat” and others.
At the opening of the event, John Alderdice, the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Central Asia and Azerbaijan, spoke as a guest of honour, noting the development of bilateral economic ties and the pace of reforms in Uzbekistan.
The first panel discussion was dedicated to macroeconomic stability and investment prospects. It was specifically noted that the IPO of the “UzNIF” fund and the issuance of Eurobonds became an important milestone in the development of the national capital market. The second panel was held under the theme “Transition from state management to private sector leadership”, where privatization and corporate transformation processes were discussed.
Following the panel discussions, B2B meetings were held between foreign investors and the Uzbekistan delegation, resulting in the signing of a number of cooperation agreements.
Additionally, an informal networking session was organized for the forum participants at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London.
Overall, “Uzbekistan Investor Day” format served as a practical platform for discussing specific projects, financing opportunities and strategic partnerships.
