MOSCOW, August 25. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Russian travel agency “Kaitan” organized an event dedicated to the tourism and cultural potential of our country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event brought together Russian cultural and art figures, activists from national cultural centers, as well as compatriots residing in Russia.

A dedicated highlight of the program was the presentation by guest art historian Galina Minakova, ranked among the top 100 lecturers in Russia. She delivered an insightful presentation on the history of Uzbekistan, giving special emphasis to the inscription of the site “Modernist Architecture of Tashkent: Modernity and Tradition in Central Asia” into the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026. It was underscored that the designated property comprises ten iconic modernist buildings and urban complexes in the capital of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, lecturer unveiled the symbolism behind traditional Uzbek ornaments, introducing the audience to the region’s cultural code through the lens of centuries-old traditions. The atmosphere of national celebration was enhanced by a live performance of the famous Khorezm dance “Lazgi”.

During the event, Fatima Tambieva, founder of the “Kaitan” project, presented the cultural and tourism potential of the ancient cities of Uzbekistan - Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. Within the presentation, a curated tour along this classic route, scheduled for October 12–22, 2026, was also announced.

Furthermore, the participants were shown vibrant promotional videos showcasing the rich historical heritage, natural landscapes and culinary potential of the Republic, prepared by the National PR Center under the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.

A dedicated exhibition was organized for the participants, with materials provided by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia. The display stands featured tourism booklets, brochures and informational materials highlighting the primary attractions of Uzbekistan, the development of its tourism infrastructure and modern opportunities for leisure and travel across the country.

Curated thematic exhibition zone arranged in the hall drew significant attention from the guests. The national corner showcased traditional Uzbek souvenirs, including hand-painted ceramics, decorative pitchers, national musical instruments, samples of celebrated Uzbek textiles and traditional headwear. The exhibition vividly demonstrated the richness of folk arts and crafts, as well as the unique cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the official program, a thematic lottery was held with a raffle of prizes, including four round-trip airline tickets for two from “Uzbekistan Airways”, an aircraft model and certificates from corporate partners. Following the event, each guest was presented with commemorative souvenirs consisting of a traditional ceramic piala and Uzbek tea.
