Participants of the 2nd Uzbekistan-Pakistan Virtual Tourism Forum agree on specific areas of cooperation

ISLAMABAD, August 22. /Dunyo IA/. The 2nd Uzbek-Pakistani Virtual Tourism Forum, organized with the assistance of the Embassy of our country in Islamabad, was held, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of tourism authorities, diplomatic missions, tour operators, airlines and the hospitality business of the two countries.

One of the main topics was the development of air communication. Over the past two years, six regular flights have been launched between Tashkent, Islamabad and Lahore. Starting September 3rd, “Centrum Air” will open the Tashkent – Karachi – Tashkent route.

Pakistani side reported a growing interest among its citizens in traveling to Uzbekistan. The country also plans to present its tourism potential at the 31st Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” on November 25–27th.

Uzbekistan presented opportunities in the fields of historical, pilgrimage, gastronomic, ecological, ski and MICE tourism. Among the modern infrastructure facilities, “Silk Road Samarkand” and “Arda Khiva” were highlighted.

Following the forum, the parties supported the development of joint tourism programs, the promotion of tourism products and the hosting of B2B meetings between companies.

Pakistan also invited Uzbekistan to participate in tourism events to be held in the country in 2027 within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
