Russia revises medical examination requirements for foreign nationals

MOSCOW, June 15. /Dunyo IA/. Amendments concerning the mandatory medical examination of foreign nationals have been introduced into Russian legislation in accordance with a document signed by the President of the Russian Federation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, beginning September 1, 2026, foreign nationals entering the territory of the Russian Federation will be required to undergo a medical examination within 30 calendar days of their arrival.

Previously, foreign citizens were granted a period of 90 days to comply with this requirement.

Failure to undergo the required medical examination or evasion of this procedure will result in an administrative fine ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 Russian roubles. In addition, non-compliance with the established requirements may serve as grounds for administrative expulsion from the Russian Federation.

If the fine is not paid within the prescribed period, the amount will be doubled, after which the violator may be subject to forced removal from the country.

The new legislation also introduces criminal liability for the production and distribution of forged medical certificates confirming the absence of dangerous diseases.

In light of the entry into force of the new regulations, diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan have called on compatriots residing in the Russian Federation to strictly comply with the requirements of the applicable legislation.
