First Central Asia–European Union Interparliamentary Cooperation Forum kicks off in Samarkand

SAMARKAND, March 31. /Dunyo IA/. The first Forum of Interparliamentary Cooperation “Central Asia – European Union” has commenced today in the ancient city of Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the upper chamber of parliament, the initiative to establish this new format of cooperation was put forward by the head of state at the “Central Asia – European Union” Summit, held on April 4, 2025.
The international dialogue brings together representatives of the parliaments of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, members of the European Parliament, as well as experts, representatives of international organizations, civil society, academia and the business community.
The forum agenda includes key sessions focusing on the current state and future prospects of political dialogue, green transformation, economic connectivity, digital security, inclusive governance, and the evolving role of parliamentary diplomacy.
