Istanbul hosts Youth Football Tournament featuring players from the Uzbekistan national football team players

A football tournament among Uzbek youth residing in Turkey, timed to coincide with May 9 - Day of Remembrance and Honor, was held at the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in cooperation with the Consulate General and the Turkish branch of the World Association of Uzbek Youth, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The main purpose of the event was to unite young compatriots abroad, strengthen friendship and mutual understanding among them, popularize a healthy lifestyle, develop grassroots sports and organize meaningful leisure activities for youth.
Diplomats of the Consulate General in Istanbul informed the participants about the consistent implementation of the state youth policy in Uzbekistan, the development of grassroots sports and the large-scale reforms being carried out under the leadership of the country.
A total of 9 teams, formed by Uzbek youth living in various districts of Istanbul and studying or working in the city, took part in the tournament. The competitions were held in an intense but friendly and respectful atmosphere.
Following the tournament, the winners and runners-up were awarded cups, medals, diplomas, as well as valuable gifts and special prizes.
The participants noted that such events are of great importance for uniting Uzbek youth abroad, strengthening their cohesion around noble goals, and upbringing them in the spirit of devotion to national values.
The awards were presented to the winners by Uzbek diplomats and heads of public organizations, together with Uzbekistan national team players Eldor Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev, who play for the Istanbul club “Basaksehir”.
