SAINT PETERSBURG, March 5. /Dunyo IA/.  An iftar gathering was held in Saint Petersburg with the participation of Ilyoskhon Sobitov, Imam-Khatib of the “Obid Qori” mosque in the Namangan region, Ilyoskhon Sobitov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by Uzbek students enrolled in higher education institutions in Saint Petersburg who actively participate in activities organized by the Consulate General.

Imam-Khatib Ilyoskhon Sobitov noted that, by the President's instructions, he was sent abroad to visit compatriots during the holy month of Ramadan. On behalf of the country's leadership, he congratulated the students on this blessed month and answered their questions on religious topics.

During the conversation, drawing on examples from the Hadiths, he explained the distinctions between the permissible and the forbidden, as well as the importance of fostering a correct and respectful attitude toward representatives of other religions. In conclusion, the Imam-Khatib wished the students success in becoming highly qualified specialists.

Participants thanked the organizers of the Iftar and shared their impressions. In particular, Gulbakhor Saidova, a third-year student at Saint Petersburg State University of Economics; Mokhinur Komolova, a master's student at Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design and Mukhammadaziz Gaziev, a fourth-year student at Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University, expressed their gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Muslim Board for the attention and comprehensive support provided to youth studying in Russia.

In an interview with Dunyo IA, Mokhinur Komolova remarked: - I have been studying in Saint Petersburg for five years, and this is the first time I am taking part in an Iftar organized at the initiative of the Head of State. For me, this is truly a historic day.

The event was held in a warm and soulful atmosphere of sincere communication and mutual understanding.
