HONG KONG, April 4. /Dunyo IA/. With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a delegation led by the Hokim of the Syrdarya region, Erkinjon Turdimov, visited the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China and held a series of important negotiations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, the delegates met with the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, John Lee. During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of interregional cooperation and the attraction of investments.

The main focus of the negotiations was on the implementation of joint projects, as well as the expansion of interaction in the fields of trade and logistics, industry, innovation, information technology and tourism.

The implementation of projects through investment companies in collaboration with local partners, as well as the development of cooperation in startups, artificial intelligence and education, were considered separately.

Uzbekistan delegation also held a roundtable discussion with Agnes Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), and executives from more than 30 companies, including: “Wo Hing Construction”, “DSA International”, “Donghua Electronic Technology”, “All Trusted Medical”, “Billion Group Technologies”, “Censpot Corporation”, “China Golden Bridge Group”, “Hong Kong Green Building Council”, “HT Strategy”, “Kadoorie Estates”.

During the meeting, the prospects for expanding economic cooperation were discussed, including the development of collaboration in transport and logistics, tourism, and IT. Furthermore, it was proposed to attract Hong Kong companies to the Syrdarya region and establish direct ties between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two regions.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to consistently develop mutually beneficial cooperation and continue working on specific joint projects.

The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), founded in 1861, is one of the largest and most influential business organizations in the region, representing over 2,000 companies and playing a vital role in the development of international trade and investment.

On the same day, the delegation met with representatives of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI). The parties noted the dynamic development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China and expressed interest in deepening interregional cooperation.

The role of Hong Kong as a global financial center was particularly emphasized, along with the Federation's expertise in developing industry and innovation. The Uzbek side proposed attracting Federation member companies operating in industry, technology, logistics, export and innovation to implement projects in the Syrdarya region.
