YUNFU, July 2. /Dunyo IA/.    Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou have organized a series of events in the city of Yunfu, Guangdong Province, aimed at expanding interregional cooperation between the two nations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting with Lu Rongchen, Secretary of the Yunfu Municipal Party Committee, sides discussed prospects for activating economic diplomacy - spanning from delegation exchanges to joint forums and exhibitions as well as the implementation of projects in stone processing, building materials manufacturing, and agriculture, alongside mechanisms to boost bilateral trade. An agreement was reached to explore the establishment of sister-city relations with municipalities in Uzbekistan.

In cooperation with the local municipality, a round table was held for 30 enterprises, showcasing the investment opportunities of Uzbekistan in the mining and agricultural sectors. Concurrently, during visits to leading Chinese enterprises, sides discussed prospects for establishing high-tech manufacturing facilities within the regions of the republic, specifically focusing on poultry farming, livestock breeding and stone processing.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a visit to Uzbekistan later this year by a high-level delegation from the Yunfu municipality, comprising the leadership of economic departments, relevant trade associations and corporate entities.
