Issues regarding protection of the rights and interests of citizens of Uzbekistan discussed in Vladikavkaz

• 67VLADIKAVKAZ, June 10. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats visited the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania to review current matters concerning the residency of compatriots in the region and to strengthen interaction with relevant local authorities, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held with Bagir Mamiev, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania and Anfisa Kondaurova, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens, accelerating repatriation procedures for compatriots held in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in Vladikavkaz, and improving migration cooperation mechanisms. Furthermore, the parties addressed ongoing interaction regarding consular visits to Uzbek citizens located within correctional institutions across the consular district.
Following the meetings, agreements were reached on further facilitating the legal stay of citizens of Uzbekistan within the territory of the republic, protecting their rights and legitimate interests and developing cooperation in the organized recruitment of Uzbek citizens for temporary labor migration in the region.
In cooperation with the Russian side, a list of 12 Uzbek citizens held in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in Vladikavkaz was compiled. An agreement was reached to arrange the repatriation of six of them via Grozny International Airport in the near future.
During the visit, the diplomats also met with Suyarkul Urakov, Head of the Uzbek National-Cultural Association of Compatriots in Vladikavkaz, and labor migrants working at the “Investitsiya” construction company.
In an open dialogue format, the parties discussed issues concerning labor migration, document processing, compliance with Russian migration laws, and the prevention of offenses among foreign citizens. Particular attention was paid to preventing the involvement of citizens in illegal activities related to illicit drug trafficking.
The compatriots were also provided with detailed information regarding the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan's labor migration sector and the state support measures available to citizens residing abroad.
