Attitude from Berlin: Uzbekistan is becoming one of the most promising partners for German Business in Central Asia

BERLIN, June 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Mirco Nowak, Head of “LUNO-Gruppe”, shared his insights with Dunyo IA regarding the visit of the German delegation led by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Uzbekistan, as well as the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum:

-  Today, Uzbekistan is gaining increasingly significant importance for Germany. This is primarily due to the country’s active, consistent, and effective presence in Germany.

Uzbekistan regularly participates in various economic, investment, and sectoral platforms, organizing presentations and meetings aimed at uncovering the country’s potential. In this process, the exceptional activity demonstrated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany deserves special recognition.

In recent years, the Government of Uzbekistan has been advancing key initiatives aimed at expanding economic cooperation, creating a favorable environment for foreign business, and enhancing the country’s attractiveness within international business circles. These efforts are generating great interest among German entrepreneurs as well.

For instance, a successful presentation of the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association was recently held in Hamburg. The country’s capabilities in the textile and light industry sectors left a positive impression on German business representatives.

I am witnessing concrete and targeted actions being implemented by Uzbekistan to support business operations. Uzbek companies are participating increasingly actively in the German market. Enterprises in the food industry, agricultural sector, textiles, and manufacturing, in particular, are successfully demonstrating their potential. This testifies to the growing quality, competitiveness and export capabilities of products manufactured in Uzbekistan.

The visit of the Federal President of Germany to Uzbekistan, accompanied by representatives of leading companies, serves as an important political and economic signal in relations between the two nations. A presidential visit to any country signifies a high level of interest and trust on Germany’s part toward that state. This interest is not limited to political dialogue alone but also expresses the intent to elevate economic cooperation to a new level.

Such visits and forums primarily establish a practical dialogue platform for business. They enable companies to network, identify partners, discuss new projects, and evaluate investment opportunities.

Under current geopolitical changes, Uzbekistan is emerging as one of the most vital states in Central Asia. The country possesses rich natural resources, a large consumer market with a population of nearly 40 million, and a favorable regional location. These factors transform the nation not only into a distinct national market but also into a focal point for establishing cooperative ties across the entire region.

As a German entrepreneur, I would like to emphasize that the development of the Middle Corridor will further increase the interest of German and European businesses in Central Asia. Alternative transport corridors, sustainable supply chains, and new logistical opportunities are of vital importance in today's global environment. In this process, Uzbekistan’s role as a regional transport, manufacturing and trade hub will be further strengthened.
