President of Uzbekistan: The people of Surkhandarya are hardworking and generous, and we will implement many more new initiatives here

ТASHKENT, February 26. /Dunyo IA/. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “New Uzbekistan” residential complex under construction in Jarkurgan district, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of our State, work is being consistently expanded across the country to create decent living conditions for the population and to build modern, comfortable housing. In accordance with the Presidential Decree of October 12, 2021, measures are being implemented to construct “New Uzbekistan” residential complexes and promote the socio-economic development of territories.
One of such projects, carried out in line with modern urban planning requirements, is being implemented in Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region.
On 50 hectares of developed steppe land, the construction of 116 apartment buildings is planned. To date, a polyclinic, a kindergarten with 180 places, a school with 330 places, and a mahalla building have been commissioned, while residents have already moved into 1,500 apartments in 68 buildings.
A training center for information technology and the English language has also begun operating, and 7 microcenters and 5 trade and consumer service facilities have been built. Drinking water supply and heating networks have been connected, about 3 kilometers of gas pipeline have been laid, and a 250-kilowatt transformer has been installed. Decorative and fruit trees have been planted on 4.5 hectares, and saxaul has been planted on 300 hectares of the desert zone.
Further construction of about 50 additional buildings is planned. In particular, this year, it is planned to build 14 apartment buildings (280 apartments), construct new roads, landscape, and create a recreational park.
During the visit, the President became familiar with the activities of the “Yangi Yoshlar” service management company operating in the residential complex. The company services 161 apartment buildings in the district, 54 of which are located in this complex. Solar panels with a capacity of 5 to 15 kilowatts have been installed on the rooftops of the buildings.
Inclusive education provides every child – regardless of physical or intellectual characteristics – with the opportunity to attend school and receive quality education.
Head of State inspected the conditions created at School No. 66, including facilities for children with disabilities. Today, more than 500 students study here. To educate children with special needs, specialized approaches have been introduced in accordance with modern standards, and about 50 specialists and teachers are working. The schoolyard, corridors, classrooms, cafeteria, sports hall, and treatment room are equipped with the necessary facilities.
After reviewing the created infrastructure, the President emphasized the importance of areas related to artificial intelligence and digitalization for the lives and future of young people.
“We are introducing artificial intelligence training programs into school education for a reason: it is important that students enter universities and the labour market prepared for the professions of the future”, the President noted.
Then the Head of State visited the foreign languages and information technology training center operating in the residential complex.
The 400-seat complex, built with an investment of 6.5 billion UZS, provides more than two thousand young people per year with opportunities to study and work on projects. About 200 participants have completed computer literacy and front-end courses and received certificates. Nearly 150 students achieved B2 or higher in IELTS examinations. About 20 specialists work at the center.
President emphasized the importance of such complexes that engage young people in education, including the study of foreign languages.
“Today it is necessary to support the aspirations of such centers and, when needed, to combine their efforts and establish ties with foreign partners. Then parents will confidently send their children to study in such centers”, President said.
With spring approaching, holding festive public celebrations has become a tradition in the regions. The President attended a sumalak festival at the residential complex, shared the festive spirit with residents, and listened to their sincere views.
“Today, the world community treats Uzbekistan with respect, sees the conditions being created for our people, and recognizes the effectiveness of the reforms. The ‘New Uzbekistan’ residential complexes are being built so that people can live in prosperity and in comfortable homes. I constantly emphasize the importance of education: through knowledge and creative work, we will further strengthen our country’s authority and take a worthy place in the world. The people of Surkhandarya are hardworking and generous, and we will implement many more new initiatives here”, the President said.
