ТАSHKENT, September 18. /Dunyo IA/. Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, at the start of his trip, Leader of Uzbekistan visited the home of prominent statesman and public figure Kallibek Kamalov. Surahs from the Quran were recited and a prayer was offered for the deceased.

President recalled his exemplary life, good deeds, and contributions to the development of his native region. He emphasized that honouring the memory of those who have passed away and showing respect for elders set an example for the younger generation.

Kallibek Kamalov, who passed away in February this year, held senior positions in Karakalpakstan for many years and made a significant contribution to the region’s socioeconomic development, including the growth of industry and agriculture and improvements in people’s living standards.

In recent years, as chairman of the public council of elders, he actively contributed to supporting the older generation, promoting harmony, and educating young people. His service was recognized with the “Shuhrat” Medal and the “El-Yurt Hurmati” Order.
