TASHKENT, August 1. /Dunyo IA/. In Uzbekistan, the 200th anniversary of Karakalpak poet and thinker Azhiniyaz Kosybay Uly (1824–1878) to be widely celebrated, reports Dunyo IA correspondent. 

The corresponding resolution was signed by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The resolution established an organizing committee to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Azhiniyaz Kosybay Uly, chaired by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov. The Committee is must approve the Program of Measures for the anniversary celebrations and for broadly promoting his creative legacy. This includes publishing books, producing a film, hosting exhibitions and conferences, opening a museum in Nukus, and creating an eco-park named after him in Muynak.

The celebration of the 200th anniversary of the poet and thinker birth is included in the UNESCO anniversary events plan. These highlights that Ajiniyaz creative heritage has universal significance.

The resolution notes that Azhiniyaz, with his unique and deeply meaningful creativity, made a significant contribution to the development of culture and literature, the education of youth in the spirit of patriotism and noble ideals, and the strengthening of ancient friendship and unity between the Uzbek and Karakalpak peoples. Humanistic and philosophical views of the poet, as well as his reflections on poetry and dastans, hold an important place in the hearts of our people.

The poet gained fame as a truly national poet, a great scientist and mentor, and a skilled calligrapher, not only in our country but throughout the region. His wonderful works are also beloved by Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgyz readers, and representatives of other fraternal nations, the resolution states.
