Warsaw hosts talks on expanding academic exchanges between Uzbekistan and Poland

WARSAW, May 14. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats held talks with representatives of the Polish university “Vizja University” – Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Dr. Maciej Kluza and Director of Development Karol Kowalczyk, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Vizja University” is a private higher educational institution founded in 2001, which today spans more than 20,000 students, including those from over 100 countries worldwide. Education is provided in the fields of information technology, business and management, finance, law, psychology, media and communications, as well as healthcare. Currently, about 200 citizens of Uzbekistan are studying at the university.
During the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation with higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan were discussed. The Polish side noted that they have repeatedly visited Uzbekistan and announced that a visit of the university delegation to the city of Tashkent is planned for this year.
University representatives emphasized that they consider Uzbekistan as one of the priority partners in Central Asia and proposed developing cooperation in several areas. In particular, this refers to the introduction of annual seasonal educational grants and short-term study programs for students from Uzbekistan. It was also proposed to launch joint educational programs in Tashkent with universities operating in the fields of fashion and information technology, and in the future, to consider the possibility of opening a university branch. Separately, it was suggested to consider establishing an agricultural faculty in Poland with the allocation of special quotas for students from Uzbekistan in this specialty.
In addition, the Polish side supported the initiative to hold the “Uzbek Fashion and Design Week” event on the university platform and expressed readiness to organize it in Warsaw and Wrocław. Initiatives were also put forward for cooperation with the Youth Union in implementing seasonal educational, grant and scholarship programs for talented youth, as well as organizing educational and cultural trips to Polish cities.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science and youth exchanges.
