International Conference on Asian Textiles scheduled in Poland with Uzbekistan's participation

WARSAW, June 8. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev met with the Director of the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, Dr. Józef Zalewski, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the organization of the international exhibition “Asian Ikat Fabrics: Borders of Color”, the opening of which is scheduled for November 26th of this year at the museum.
The Polish side informed that within the framework of the exhibition, it is planned to present ikat fabrics from Asian countries, including national Uzbek fabrics, traditional weaving arts, chapan coats and contemporary design works.
The museum leadership expressed interest in allocating a dedicated space for the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, showcasing Uzbek ikats, national clothing, and modern design pieces. The possibilities of organizing presentations, masterclasses and cultural events with the participation of Uzbek designers were also discussed.
Polish side proposed holding the exhibition under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Poland and requested assistance in providing 2–3 samples of contemporary outfits created by Uzbek designers to enrich the exposition.
It is reported that special cultural programs are also scheduled within the framework of the exhibition for November 27–29, alongside the international scientific conference “Colors of Asia: Polish Research on Asian Textiles”, which will take place on March 12–13, 2027.
Polish side expressed readiness to assist in organizing the exhibition, side events, and fashion shows.
It was noted that holding this event contributes to popularizing Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage, national weaving traditions, artisan schools and contemporary fashion design among the public of Poland and Europe.
