Within the framework of the holy month of Ramadan, the Uzbek community in the USA is actively holding events, demonstrating solidarity with compatriots back home and following the spirit of values outlined in the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan on the worthy observance of the month of Ramadan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
These days, a series of Iftar events have been organized in the cities of Philadelphia and New York, featuring members of the Uzbek diaspora, including both youth and the elderly. The gatherings are held in an atmosphere of mutual trust and contribute to strengthening intra-diaspora harmony. The substantive part of the meetings is enriched by spiritual and educational talks from imams invited from Uzbekistan.
The Iftars serve as a platform for open dialogue, discussions on pressing community issues, expansion of mutual aid and consolidation of efforts. Special attention is paid to targeted support for compatriots and families in difficult situations. This work is carried out systematically and in unison with the policy pursued in Uzbekistan to strengthen social harmony.
Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York takes an active part in the ongoing events, maintaining constant interaction with compatriots and facilitating the further development of contacts with the diaspora.
During the days of Ramadan, similar events will continue in other U.S. states where the Uzbek community is densely populated, including Ohio, Illinois and New Jersey.
Such events, held by the Uzbek community in the USA, consistently demonstrate a commitment to the principles of mutual aid, contributing to the strengthening of ties with the homeland and the development of public diplomacy.
