ISLAMABAD, May 1. /Dunyo IA/.  As part of a working visit to Karachi, an Uzbek delegation led by the Khokim of the Navoi region, Normat Tursunov, and the Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met with Irfan Iqbal, CEO of “Nova Leathers (Pvt.) Ltd.”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the organization of deep processing of local raw materials in Uzbekistan, specifically in the Navoi region, the production of high-value-added goods, the expansion of export potential and the implementation of advanced technologies.

Khokim Normat Tursunov briefed the Pakistani side on the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan's leather and footwear industry, the results achieved to date and the measures taken to attract foreign investment and establish modern joint ventures for the production of competitive goods.

Drawing on his company’s extensive experience, CEO Irfan Iqbal shared insights into Pakistan's leather industry export potential, modern manufacturing technologies, as well as current international market requirements and trends.

During the negotiations, specific proposals were put forward for the further development of the leather industry in the Navoi region, the introduction of innovative technologies, the establishment of joint ventures, and the manufacturing of export-oriented products with high added value.

The parties also exchanged views on the rich raw material base of the Navoi region, its developed industrial infrastructure, and the favourable investment climate created for investors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to conduct a detailed study on the prospects for implementing mutually beneficial investment projects in leather processing, establishing joint manufacturing enterprises and further expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

Following the official negotiations, the representatives of Uzbekistan toured the facility to observe the full production cycle, from raw material processing to the manufacturing of finished goods.

“Nova Leathers (Pvt.) Ltd.” is a major industrial enterprise specializing in leather processing and the production of high-quality finished products. Established in 1986, the company operates a complete industrial leather processing cycle and manufactures leather jackets, bags, materials for the garment industry and other finished goods.
