Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom to expand cooperation in the judicial and legal spheres

LONDON, June 10. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with Lord Robert Reed, President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, Lord Robert Reed highly commended the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening judicial independence, improving the quality of justice and protecting the rights of citizens and entrepreneurs.

He noted that measures to improve the compliance control system in the courts contribute to increasing the openness, transparency, and accountability of judicial bodies, as well as preventing corruption risks and strengthening public trust in the judicial system.

President of the Supreme Court also positively assessed the initiative to create the Tashkent International Financial Centre, emphasizing that the application of the principles of the common law of England and Wales could help build investor confidence and introduce effective mechanisms for resolving commercial disputes.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange experience in the areas of judicial training, digitalization of the judicial system and the strengthening of legal institutions.
