Representatives of Uzbekistan participate in conference on SCO Development

SHANGHAI, June 10. /Dunyo IA/. An international conference themed “The 25th Anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation: New Challenges and New Steps in Global Governance” was held at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The conference was attended by experts and analysts from leading research centers in Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan and Russia. Uzbekistan was represented by specialists from the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the National University of Uzbekistan.
The participants discussed a wide range of topical issues related to the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the modern system of international relations. The focus was on such themes as contemporary concepts of global governance and the role of the SCO within them, the organization's practical contribution to ensuring global security, the SCO's involvement in world development processes, the significance of humanitarian cooperation within the organization for the development of a global inter-civilizational dialogue, as well as prospects for the further development of the SCO and its future contribution to the global governance system.
During the event, an exchange of views took place on new directions and measures necessary to further strengthen multilateral cooperation within the framework of the SCO.
The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies was founded in 1960 to conduct comprehensive research in the fields of international relations, foreign policy, economics, and national security of China. The Academy operates under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. It stands as one of China’s largest and most authoritative think tanks, providing expert advisory and consultative support for state decision-making processes through high-level policy research of vital significance to international relations and Chinese diplomacy.
