SEATTLE, August 8. /Dunyo IA/. Consul General of Uzbekistan Akhror Burkhanov met with Jian Qian, Vice President for Generative AI at Oracle Corporation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The talks focused on the development of generative artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and human capital — key factors that are fundamentally reshaping the global economy. The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Oracle and Uzbekistan, as well as opportunities to effectively apply advanced technologies in the economy, education and public administration.
Jian Qian was briefed on the large-scale reforms being implemented under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, the country’s rapid economic growth, continued improvements in the investment climate, as well as measures aimed at developing the IT sector and supporting technology entrepreneurship.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that young people constitute a significant share of Uzbekistan’s population, while training specialists in emerging professions remains one of the government’s policy priorities. The Oracle representative expressed considerable interest in the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy, the “Five Million AI Leaders” initiative, programmes for training IT specialists and developing technology startups, as well as efforts to transform Uzbekistan into a regional hub for digital innovation in Central Asia.
Jian Qian highlighted the transformations that have taken place in Uzbekistan over a relatively short period. In his view, the country’s young, knowledge-oriented population, consistent reforms, strong political will and advantageous strategic geographic location make Uzbekistan a promising partner for leading international technology companies.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for the practical implementation of generative AI, professional development of Uzbek specialists, support for the startup ecosystem, development of modern cloud and computing infrastructure, and expansion of international cooperation in robotics.
Following the talks, the sides agreed to give new impetus to previously reached agreements between Uzbekistan and Oracle and to continue dialogue between relevant organizations. Jian Qian expressed interest in gaining a deeper understanding of Uzbekistan’s ongoing technological transformation and welcomed the invitation to visit the country.
