ROME, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullayev held a meeting with FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Meeting focused on ongoing joint projects, as well as new programmes planned for implementation in the future.
FAO Director-General noted the significant progress achieved by Uzbekistan as a result of reforms and transformations in the food and agriculture sector under the leadership of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He particularly highlighted the attention paid by the President of Uzbekistan to food security, irrigation and the development of agricultural science, as well as underscoring his initiatives and achievements in these areas.
The sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming Second International Forum on Food Security of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC2), to be held in Tashkent, as well as the participation of high-level representatives in the events to be held as part of the Forum.
