Second meeting of the Uzbek-British Joint Economic Committee held in Tashkent

TASHKENT, October 10. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, Tashkent hosted the second meeting of the Uzbekistan–UK Joint Economic Committee, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The meeting was co-chaired by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Anas Sarwar, UK Minister of State for Trade.
According to the Ministry of Investment, the parties discussed trade, investment and industrial cooperation.
In January–August 2026, bilateral trade increased by 12.6%, reaching nearly $250 million.
Particular attention was paid to the UK’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), simplifying certification procedures, removing technical barriers and facilitating access for Uzbek products to UK retail chains.
Discussions also covered the implementation of 46 projects, financing with the support of UK Export Finance, the development of the Tashkent International Financial Centre, and cooperation in electrical engineering, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals and transport equipment manufacturing.
The meeting concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the Second Meeting of the Committee, formalising agreements in trade, investment, industry, digital technologies, finance and healthcare.
