TASHKENT, August 9. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, in cooperation with representatives of the Tashkent Region administration, organized a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation from Aitchison College, a specialized educational institution in Pakistan with a strong focus on developing young athletes, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The visit is being held as part of the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Sports, signed following the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan on February 5–6 this year.

During the visit, Pakistani sports specialists, coaches and young athletes are familiarizing themselves with Uzbekistan’s advanced experience in sports and taking part in training sessions. They are also participating in a series of meetings and events aimed at strengthening friendly ties with Uzbek youth, exchanging experience and further developing bilateral cooperation.

In particular, the delegation visited the Chirchiq Center for Training Athletes in Olympic and Paralympic Sports, located in Tashkent Region, as well as the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport. Meetings were also held with the leadership of the Chirchiq city administration, the Tashkent Region Sports Department and the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport.

The meetings featured an exchange of views on improving Pakistan’s sports education system based on Uzbekistan’s advanced experience, expanding institutional cooperation between the two countries in the field of sports, establishing regular exchanges between young athletes and coaches, and exploring opportunities to organize joint training camps and sporting events.

The young athletes from Pakistan also visited the Olympic Village in Tashkent, built at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. The modern sports facilities of the Olympic Village, which meet international standards, made a strong impression on the Pakistani delegation.

As part of the visit, a friendly basketball match was also held between young athletes from Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
