Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson (Speaker) of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Upper Chamber) of Uzbekistan and President of the Uzbekistan Cycling Federation, held a meeting yesterday with Dato Amarjit Singh, the newly elected President of the Asian Cycling Confederation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the information service of Uzbekistan’s upper parliamentary chamber, the talks focused on expanding collaboration between the Uzbekistan Cycling Federation and the Asian Cycling Confederation. The discussions highlighted that cycling development in Uzbekistan is actively supported at the state policy level, with modern infrastructure in place and athletes’ performance on the international stage steadily improving. In particular, the participation of national and para-cycling teams in the Olympic Games and world championships was cited as evidence of the country’s growing potential.
Under the agreement, the parties plan to establish a regional training and education center in Uzbekistan, expand the international competition calendar under the Confederation, implement joint specialist training programs and strengthen initiatives supporting women’s and para-cycling.
Tanzila Narbayeva has led the Uzbekistan Cycling Federation since 2011, playing a key role in advancing the sport nationally and raising Uzbekistan’s profile in international cycling.
