ASHGABAT, 29 June. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan organized a public screening of the Uzbekistan national football team's third match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was held with the active support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, and the Ashgabat City Administration.

The screening took place at Tashkent Park and the Tashkent Restaurant located within the park, landmarks symbolizing the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between the brotherly peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The venue provided a festive atmosphere for football fans, combining national traditions with modern amenities.

Despite the early kick-off, the event brought together heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, members of the Uzbek community residing in Turkmenistan, and numerous local guests.

Participants enthusiastically supported Uzbekistan’s national team throughout the match, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a football stadium. They noted that such sporting and cultural initiatives contribute to further strengthening humanitarian ties and people-to-people relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

At the conclusion of the match, participants wished the Uzbekistan national team continued success, new victories, and outstanding achievements in upcoming international competitions and major football tournaments.
