Beijing hosts presentation on the modern development of Uzbekistan

• 132BEIJING, July 26 /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan in China organized a presentation and exhibition titled “Dynamic Development of Uzbekistan” at the headquarters of the SCO Secretariat, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and the process of building the New Uzbekistan. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing, “Development Strategy” Center and SCO Secretariat.
Event was attended by the SCO leadership, ambassadors of countries representing the “SCO family”, business, social, and cultural circles of China, as well as the media.
A comprehensive presentation of the updated Development Strategy of Uzbekistan until 2030 and an exhibition of over 100 video and photographic works reflecting the rich history, culture, and modern development of Uzbekistan were presented to the audience. A video materials highlighting the activities of the Center for Islamic Civilization was also showcased separately.
During the speeches, the event participants were briefed on the wide-ranging reforms carried out in Uzbekistan across all spheres of public life under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has entered a qualitatively new stage of its development. New Uzbekistan is being built with high and unprecedented development dynamics, effectively ensuring a robust social policy, the protection of all citizen rights, actively promoting regional and international cooperation, adhering to the principles of sustainable and green development and demonstrating great openness to the world.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev stated that under the wise leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms are being implemented in Uzbekistan across all spheres of society and state activities. The ongoing reforms have transformed the country's landscape and strengthened its authority in the international arena. Uzbekistan marks the 35th anniversary of its Independence with significant achievements in democratic transformations and socio-economic development.
“This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the SCO's establishment, and Uzbekistan makes a significant contribution to the development of the Organization. SCO Samarkand Summit in 2022 became a landmark event that defined new dimensions of multifaceted interaction within the SCO”, - he noted.
Uzbekistan consistently advocates for the balanced development of all pillars of cooperation within the SCO—political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian - paying special attention to the development of transport corridors, digitalization and inter-sectoral cooperation.
Presented video and photographic materials are not merely archival footage. They are a living testament to positive changes, including the modernization of cities and industrial enterprises, new educational and cultural centers, agricultural development and the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the “Development Strategy” Center, delivered a presentation on the updated “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy. He noted that the economic transformation of New Uzbekistan is structural in nature. The reform agenda remains open to all countries worldwide. The Republic welcomes investors, enterprises, and institutions ready to build sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships.
“New Uzbekistan is building a more open, competitive, and interconnected economy. Partners should view Uzbekistan not merely as an emerging market, but as a strategic ally and a regional platform for long-term interaction”, - he emphasized.
Guests of the event were also presented with items of traditional craftsmanship, embroidery, ceramics and other arts. They also had the opportunity to savor dishes of Uzbek national cuisine.
Oleg Kopylov, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, stated:
- Today we are attending a remarkable event organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan. As you can see, this is a very modern, interactive photographic exhibition dedicated to the history and 35 years of development of Uzbekistan as an independent state.
Over these years, Uzbekistan has achieved immense success, primarily in the socio-economic sphere. The country plays an active and indispensable role in the activities of the SCO. Over the past 25 years, Uzbekistan has held the SCO presidency four times. The SCO Samarkand Summit in 2022 was highly successful.
Uzbekistan hosts major international events at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
