Leading Indian business publication covers updated “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy

NEW DELHI, April 9. /Dunyo IA/. The authoritative Indian newspaper The Economic Times has published a detailed article dedicated to Uzbekistan’s updated National Development Strategy through 2030, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The publication highlights the ambitious nature of the reforms initiated by Uzbekistan’s leadership. According to the article, “Uzbekistan – 2030” is a comprehensive national transformation plan that marks a significant milestone in the country’s development.

The Economic Times emphasizes that the President of Uzbekistan has approved 100 concrete objectives, the implementation of which will be assessed annually through 2030. Each objective has designated responsible agencies, implementation mechanisms, and funding sources.

"This creates a governance model based on accountability and transparency," the newspaper notes. International organizations and development partners will be able to track progress, review reports, and provide expert guidance, thereby attracting external support and strengthening confidence.

The publication also examines the strategy’s key priorities in detail. In the field of human capital development, there are 44 objectives, including increasing preschool education coverage to 80%, doubling teachers’ salaries, raising average life expectancy to 78 years, teaching foreign languages to 7 million young people, and training 3 million citizens in modern professions using artificial intelligence.

To achieve sustainable economic growth, the country aims to increase GDP from the current $145 billion to over $240 billion by 2030, and GDP per capita from $3,800 to $5,800, the Indian journalist emphasizes.

The newspaper highlights plans to raise automobile production to 1 million units and attract $150 billion in foreign investment through 400 strategic projects. The Economic Times also notes the goal of increasing the share of renewable energy to 54% and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35%. Furthermore, the article outlines reforms aimed at strengthening the rule of law, combating corruption, and developing e-government services.

The Indian business publication stresses that the strategy aligns with international standards and UN Sustainable Development Goals, positioning Uzbekistan as an active participant in the global agenda.

"The Uzbekistan – 2030 Strategy stands out for its combination of ambition and a structured, results-oriented approach. Rather than pursuing fragmented initiatives, the country is implementing a coordinated, accountable, and long-term transformation program," concludes The Economic Times.
