ISLAMABAD, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. On the occasion of the 35^th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan has dispatched a consignment consisting of 35 sets of cricket equipment and uniforms to Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

This project serves not only as a symbolic gift to mark the 35^th anniversary of independence with dignity, but is also of paramount importance for the development of sports in Uzbekistan and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the youth.

In recent years, the development of sports has become one of the priority areas of Uzbekistan's state policy. Alongside sports such as football, boxing, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, weightlifting, and chess, the country’s national football team delivered a commendable performance at the World Cup.

At the same time, special attention is being paid to popularizing new and promising sports in the country, including cricket. Today, cricket is widely played in more than 100 countries, and in Pakistan, in particular, it stands as the national sport and a symbol of unity.

This project, implemented to study Pakistan’s rich expertise in this field and integrate it into Uzbekistan, will serve to advance sports diplomacy and popularize cricket among the youth.
