ISTANBUL, September 8. /Dunyo IA/.  At the initiative of the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Istanbul and on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the country’s Independence, a series of meetings with compatriots was held, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Events were attended by representatives of the Muslim Board arriving from Uzbekistan. During the meeting with Uzbek students pursuing degrees in theology and Islamic sciences at Istanbul universities, issues concerning education, living conditions and the daily challenges of youth were discussed.

Participants were also briefed on the ongoing reforms in the religious and educational spheres in Uzbekistan, the improvement of the religious education system and the training of qualified personnel.

In the Arnavutköy district, a meeting was held with compatriots working under employment contracts at Kalyon company. Working conditions, wages, social issues, and the needs of their families were discussed.

In the Başakşehir district, a meeting and an outreach consular reception were organized for compatriots residing in Türkiye for an extended period. Citizens were provided with practical assistance regarding documentation, civil registration, passport and other consular matters.

At the beginning of the meetings, compatriots were congratulated on the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan and briefed on the country's achievements during the years of independence, ongoing reforms, and opportunities being created for youth and citizens living abroad.

During the open dialogues, participants were reminded of the necessity to comply with the legislation of Türkiye and migration rules, avoid involvement in suspicious or illegal groups, and respect the traditions of the local population and representatives of other nationalities.

Particular attention was paid to preserving national identity, promoting the Uzbek language and culture, and systematically conducting cultural and educational events among compatriots.

Meetings were held in an open and trustful atmosphere. The participants highly appreciated the regular conduct of such meetings and outreach consular receptions.
