HAMBURG, September 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of our country in Germany, in cooperation with “CVJM” association, organized the “Uzbekistan Evening” event dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of the Parliament and Mayor's Office of Hamburg, business circles, tourism associations and companies, compatriots living, working, and studying in Germany, as well as journalists - totalling more than 150 participants.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov, addressed the opening ceremony of the event. He briefed the participants on the reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan under the leadership of the Head of State, sustainable economic growth, foreign investment attraction, entrepreneurship support, and achievements in the tourism sector. The consistent development of cooperation with Germany was highlighted, and gratitude was expressed to German partners for their contribution to strengthening bilateral ties.

Arne Platzbecker, Member of the Hamburg Parliament (SPD) and Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Media, congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 35^th Anniversary of Independence, emphasizing that the country is developing dynamically and occupying a worthy place in the global community.

David Erkalp, Member of the Hamburg Parliament (CDU) and Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Labor, and Innovation, noted the special significance of celebrating the Independence Day of Uzbekistan in Hamburg - “Gateway to the World” and one of the largest economic hubs in Europe. He pointed out the immense potential for developing long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in trade and economic spheres.

As part of the evening, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan held a conversation with compatriots working and studying in Hamburg, listening to their proposals and initiatives. Diplomat emphasized that citizens of Uzbekistan abroad are always under the protection of the state, and urged them to contribute to the development of Uzbek-German relations.

A festive reception featuring national cuisine was arranged for the guests, along with a cultural program that included a performance by a young German pianist and Uzbek national dances.

- Holding the festive event in honour of the 35^th Anniversary of Independence specifically in Hamburg makes it even more significant. Hamburg is an important economic hub in Europe with its largest seaport. During the meeting with Mr. Ambassador, we exchanged views on the prospects of economic cooperation. We stand ready to support the expansion of trade and economic ties with Uzbekistan. I congratulate the entire Uzbek people on this great holiday.

Mirko Novak, Managing Director of “LUNO Group”:

- Uzbekistan is a country with great prospects in Central Asia. There is an immense potential for expanding cooperation with Hamburg, especially in the fields of economy and medicine.
