KHIVA, August 7. /Dunyo IA/. From August 7th to 9th, Khiva is hosting the “Melon Festival” (“Qovun sayli”) International Festival, which will bring together representatives of the tourism industry, artisans, cultural figures, foreign media representatives, tour operators and guests from various countries, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event is organized by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Khokimiyat of the Khorezm region. Festival is traditionally held to promote the tourism potential of the region, popularize national traditions, and highlight the rich cultural heritage of the country.
Program includes B2B meetings for tourism industry representatives, introductory tours of historical and modern tourist sites in the Khorezm region, as well as visits to artisan workshops, thematic pavilions and new tourism infrastructure facilities across the region.
Guests can also expect an exhibition of the finest varieties of Khorezm melons, expositions of products by folk artisans, tastings of national cuisine dishes, national games, folklore performances and concert programs featuring famous Uzbek and foreign performers.
Festival aims to promote the tourism potential of the Khorezm region, develop event tourism, preserve national traditions, support folk crafts, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of tourism.
