“Travel Tomorrow”: Uzbekistan welcomes 9.1 million foreign tourists since the beginning of the year

BRUSSELS, September 19. /Dunyo IA/. Belgian travel portal “Travel Tomorrow” has published an article about the growth in tourist arrivals to Uzbekistan, highlighting a 21.1 percent increase in the number of foreign visitors during the first eight months of 2026, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the Committee for Tourism, 9.1 million foreign tourists visited the country from January through August. Exports of tourism services increased by 53.5 percent during the period, reaching $4.6 billion.
Uzbekistan also saw the opening of 705 new accommodation facilities, bringing the total number of registered accommodation facilities to more than 7,400.
The largest increases in tourist arrivals were recorded from China and Malaysia, with numbers more than doubling. The number of tourists from Japan increased by 50 percent, Germany by 25 percent, and France and the United Kingdom by 21 percent.
Authorities of Uzbekistan aim to increase the number of foreign tourists to 20 million by the end of the current decade.
