Baysun district in Surxondarya Region introduces tourism village to boost regional ecotourism and cultural heritage

On the eve of the New Year, the Sayrob mahalla in the Baysun district of Surkhandarya region, renowned for its centuries-old history and rich cultural heritage, was officially awarded a certificate confirming its designation as a “Tourist Village”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the “uzbektourism.uz” portal, the Sayrob mahalla, which dates back more than a thousand years, attracts both domestic and international visitors with its unique natural landscape, distinctive customs, traditional architecture and deep-rooted cultural heritage. It was noted that the conferral of “Tourist Village” status is expected to contribute to the further development of tourism infrastructure in the region, create employment opportunities, support local entrepreneurship and help preserve national values.
Speaking at the official certificate-awarding ceremony, participants emphasised that the new status will enable the full realisation of Sayrob’s tourism potential, positioning the area as an increasingly prominent destination on Uzbekistan’s tourism map.
