Senate hosts a meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan

ТASHKENT, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. Sodiq Safoev, First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Takashi Hattori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Press Service of the upper house of Parliament, it was emphasized during the meeting that the traditional friendly relations and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan are developing consistently and steadily. Japan was recognized as one of Uzbekistan’s key political, economic, and investment partners in the Asia-Pacific region.


During the meeting, issues related to the further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the economic, investment, scientific and technical, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed. Furthermore, the necessity to deepen inter-parliamentary relations and strengthen multifaceted ties through the effective utilization of parliamentary diplomacy was emphasized.


In particular, proposals were made to activate the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, organize reciprocal visits, and establish experience exchange in the field of legislation.


Furthermore, an agreement was reached on supporting investment projects being implemented between business circles and major companies, as well as on developing and practically implementing specific programs aimed at their advancement.


The meeting also addressed the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, science, and culture, promoting initiatives aimed at human capital development, including the expansion of mutual exchange programs.
