Tashkent, October 20. /Dunyo IA/. A parliamentary delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, participated in the Forum of Women Parliamentarians held in Geneva within the framework of the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the information service of the Senate, the forum was dedicated to the theme "Solidarity and Inspiration: Supporting Women on Their Journey". During the event, participants discussed globally significant issues aimed at enhancing women’s political, social, and economic engagement.

In her speech, Tanzila Narbayeva emphasized the importance of empowering women, unlocking their full potential, and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The forum participants also notably praised the high level of organization of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Tashkent this April. They acknowledged the special role of the Women Parliamentarians’ Forum conducted within the framework of this Assembly, as well as the historic significance of the Tashkent Declaration adopted during the event.

The discussion highlighted the voice and aspirations of every woman, as well as the spirit of solidarity within the global community. It was noted that Uzbekistan promotes a comprehensive approach aimed at realizing the full potential of women. Initiatives were proposed to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation in this area, expand knowledge and leadership capacities, and provide practical support to women facing crisis situations.

Speakers emphasized that supporting women and strengthening their role in society is not only a national priority but also a strategic imperative on the path toward collective human progress and the achievement of lasting peace.
