BUDAPEST, February 28. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of Uzbekistan held talks with András Korányi, Rector of the Lutheran Theological University of Hungary and member of the Conference of Hungarian Rectors, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Parties discussed organizational and substantive matters regarding the university delegation's upcoming visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the III Uzbek-Hungarian Rectors' Forum, scheduled for March 5, 2026, in Samarkand. Perspectives on implementing bilateral educational and scientific projects were also reviewed.

Rector expressed strong interest in developing cooperation with the country's religious educational institutions, including student exchange programs and joint scientific research.

Special attention during the conversation was paid to the history of interfaith harmony in Uzbekistan, the country's role in promoting religious tolerance and the significance of its cultural and scientific heritage.

The parties agreed to arrange activities including a visit to the Center of Islamic Civilization and potential meetings with the leadership of leading religious educational institutions.
