German state of Thuringia to support training and employment initiatives for Uzbek youth

BERLIN, April 23. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with Katarina Schenk, Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Labour and Family of the Federal State of Thuringia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The talks took place within the framework of the international “Uzbek-German Forum on Dual and Vocational Education – Competitive and Qualified Workforce,” held at the embassy.
During the meeting, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov provided detailed information on the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the fields of labour migration, dual and vocational education, as well as on new opportunities being created for the training of qualified personnel.
Katarina Schenk noted that the favourable business environment and emerging opportunities in Uzbekistan are attracting strong interest from business circles in Thuringia. She also emphasized that the federal state has been effectively cooperating with the Uzbek side for many years and expressed readiness to support projects aimed at vocational training and youth employment.
The discussions identified dual and vocational education, legal, safe, and orderly lab or migration, training of qualified specialists, and the expansion of interregional economic ties as priority areas of cooperation.
It was noted that practical work is already underway to attract young professionals from Uzbekistan to enterprises in Thuringia, as well as to support their integration and social adaptation.
The two sides expressed mutual interest in further deepening cooperation in education and labour migration, as well as expanding collaboration in industry, the textile sector, the training of competitive specialists, and social development areas.
