MAIKOP, April 23. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don conducted an mobile consular reception at the construction enterprise “SpetsStroyKuban” in the Republic of Adygea, where more than 50 citizens of Uzbekistan are temporarily employed, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

At the beginning of the event, participants were briefed on the ongoing socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as on the consular services provided by the Consulate General.

It was also noted with concern that recently there has been an increase in issues faced by the citizens of Uzbekistan working in the Russian Federation. In particular, attention was drawn to cases involving involvement in unlawful activities related to drug trafficking, religious extremism, violence, and other types of crimes. As a result, some compatriots have been convicted or are under investigation.

Diplomats further reminded participants that participation in armed conflicts abroad is subject to liability under the legislation of Uzbekistan.

Citizens were strongly urged to strictly comply with the laws of the host country and to respect local traditions and customs. It was emphasized that even minor violations may lead to serious consequences, including the risks mentioned above.

At the conclusion of the meeting, consular officials familiarized themselves with the living and working conditions of the compatriots, as well as with occupational safety standards provided by the employer.
