ZAGREB, April 21. /Dunyo IA/. As part of their consular duties, Uzbekistan’s diplomats in Budapest conducted a field visit to Croatia, visiting the cities of Zagreb and Križevci, as well as the Zagreb County, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, meetings were held with compatriots temporarily residing and employed in these regions.

Citizens were provided with information regarding the regulations for staying in the host country, the procedure and significance of consular registration, and mechanisms for receiving consular and legal assistance. Special attention was paid to the rights and duties of citizens, as well as the protection of their legal interests.

Based on the discussions, it was established that the working conditions and wage levels for compatriots employed in these regions are satisfactory. It was noted that the majority are provided with stable employment and decent pay.

Furthermore, the visit included a series of meetings with local employers. These negotiations resulted in establishing contacts for the future recruitment of migrants from Uzbekistan. It is noteworthy that Croatia is experiencing high labor demand, with many sectors facing staff shortages. Consequently, local employers are showing significant interest in recruiting labour resources from Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness for cooperation.

Participants received explanations regarding the importance of consular registration and the necessity of strict compliance with the migration laws of the host country.

Furthermore, citizens were informed about the various types of assistance provided by the state and the Embassy, including financial support, repatriation arrangements if necessary, and other consular services.

Compatriots were strongly advised to avoid any involvement with religious extremist movements and groups promoting radical ideas. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to remain vigilant and cautious, and to immediately contact the Embassy through the established procedures in the event of any suspicious situations.
