"Global Korea Post" newspaper: Constitution of Uzbekistan serves as a strategic framework for sustainable development and strengthening international authority of the New Uzbekistan

SEOUL, December 3. /Dunyo IA/. The South‑Korean publication “Global Korea Post” has published an article dedicated to the constitutional reforms of Uzbekistan under the “New Uzbekistan” initiative, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The article notes that the Constitution of Uzbekistan, adopted in 1992, laid the foundation for the country’s independence by enshrining the principles of a democratic state, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.

It further emphasizes that the 2023 revised edition of the Constitution reflects the nation’s aspiration toward modernization, the expansion of legal and social guarantees, and the strengthening of state institutions.

The publication highlights that the broad public nature of the constitutional reform—including over 222,000 citizen proposals, extensive work by expert groups, and a nationwide referendum held on 30 April 2023—served as a clear demonstration that the Constitution of Uzbekistan is truly “of the people.”

It reports that more than 65 percent of the text was updated, with the new provisions reinforcing the social character of the state, expanding guarantees for the protection of individual rights and freedoms, strengthening mechanisms for the independence of the judiciary, and establishing the institutional foundations for the country’s foreign policy activities.

In conclusion, “Global Korea Post” states that the revised Constitution has become a key pillar for the modernization of Uzbekistan, enhancing the quality of public administration, developing human potential, and further strengthening citizens’ trust in the future of their country. The Constitution serves as a strategic guide on the path toward sustainable development and the consolidation of the international authority of the New Uzbekistan.
