NOVOSIBIRSK, December 12. /Dunyo IA/. Novosibirsk hosted a solemn ceremony commemorating the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Consul General of Uzbekistan, Aslam Akbarov extended his congratulations to the attendees on the occasion, which is celebrated nationwide on 8 December.

The event brought together representatives of regional ministries and agencies, leading public, political and analytical circles of Novosibirsk, as well as members of the Uzbek diaspora residing temporarily or permanently in the Siberian capital. Uzbek students studying at the city’s leading universities also took part in the ceremony.

It was emphasized that the Constitution of Uzbekistan guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms for citizens, including freedom of speech, the right to work, access to education, and healthcare. The Constitution also ensures the protection of private property and entrepreneurial activity, which undoubtedly contributes to the country’s economic growth and attracts an increasing volume of foreign investment.

It was noted that the 2023 constitutional reform has further strengthened the legal protections for Uzbek citizens living and working abroad, including those residing in the Russian Federation.

In their remarks, Nikolay Afonasov, Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Novosibirsk and Denis Ryaguzov, Acting Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship Development of the Novosibirsk Region highlighted the significance of Uzbekistan’s updated Constitution for the country’s multiethnic population. They also underscored the current high level of Uzbek-Russian strategic cooperation, including collaborative ties between the regions of both countries.

Guests were shown a thematic video dedicated to the country’s Constitution, while Uzbek students studying at the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M.I.Glinka performed popular and well-known Uzbek songs and melodies.
