“The Gulf Observer”: April Declared the “Month of Amir Temur” in Uzbekistan

ISLAMABAD, February 16. /«Dunyo» IA/. April has been officially declared the “Month of Amir Temur” in Uzbekistan to commemorate the 690th anniversary of his birth, reports «Dunyo» IA citing «The Gulf Observer», a Pakistani online publication.
It is noted that the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a decree providing for the broad celebration of the 690th anniversary of the birth of Amir Temur.
According to the document, this milestone holds not only historical significance but also represents an important stage in the revival of national identity and in the comprehensive study of the country’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
Pursuant to the decree, April has been officially proclaimed the “Month of Amir Temur.” A wide range of large-scale educational, academic, and cultural events will be held nationwide, including meetings, round tables, and discussions with the participation of scholars, researchers of Timurid history, writers, and cultural figures in educational institutions, research centers, and local communities.
As part of the initiative, an extensive roadmap through 2030 has been approved, aimed at the systematic study of Timurid history and the broad dissemination of research findings.
One of the key events of the program will be the international academic conference entitled “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurid Civilization in World History and Culture,” scheduled to take place on April 9–10 at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
The conference is expected to bring together scholars from various countries to discuss new research and further expand international academic cooperation.
The decree also provides for the publication of scholarly annotated editions of the Temur Tuzuklari in Persian, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish, and Russian.
In addition, plans include the preparation of book albums entitled “100 Rare Manuscripts of the Timurid Era” and “100 Rare Treasures of the Timurid Era,” as well as the development of a dedicated electronic platform featuring primary sources from the period. The platform will provide broad public access to digitized manuscripts, historical documents, and academic articles.
